Rushen Players are delighted to perform When we are Married, JB Priestley's comic masterpiece.
Although written in 1938, the play is firmly set amongst the mills, moors and Methodist chapels in Edwardian Yorkshire,
reflecting the social morés of the time with warmth, humanity and humour.

Full of vividly drawn characters who invade the Helliwell’s drawing room, in the course of one evening,
causing mayhem and upset with the three couples who are gathered there to celebrate
what they believe to be their joint 25th wedding anniversary......or is it?

The play is an absolute delight to perform and we had originally planned to present it at the Erin Arts Centre last November
as part of the Centre's 50th anniversary celebrations - so very apt for us to perform as not only does the play
centre around an Anniversary but Rushen Players performed it for the first time in the newly opened Erin Arts Centre 50 years ago last November.

A perfect choice all round!
