The one act play by Noel Coward was presented at the MADF One Act Play Festival 2007 and
won three awards at the Festival.

All the action of the play takes place in the refreshment room of Milford Junction Railway Station. As the play begins it is 1936.
Scene 1    5.25 pm on an April evening
Scene 2    Same time of day in July
Scene 3    Same tim eof day in October
Scene 4    9.45 pm December
Scene 5    5.10 pm March 1937

"......We're nice people, you and I". And so they are. Which is why the unlikley love affair of GP Alec Harvey and ordinary housewife Laura Jesson is doomed. Noel Coward palyed Alec in the original 1936 stage production to Gerrude Lawrence's Laura. The play was later made into the film Brief Encounter with Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson.
